People and their lovely blogs...

I am an avid blog reader. I enjoy surfing blogexplosion and other blog directories. Lately while surfing blog explosion I have noticed a lot of blog bashing! So now it's my turn...

Here is my list of blog types that I dont like:

1.)Completely Political blogs (however the ones that involve humor are very funny especially the one blogger who blogged about the chicken crossing the road)

2.) Technical Gagdet blogs or tech news blogs

3.) News blogs (unless they put some kind of original twist into the news or good commentary about it)

4.) Hateful/Gripey blogs-the type of blogs where all the blogger wants to do is gripe or whine about something..why bother! Be happy!

5.) Some Business blogs (however, I like the ones that prove to be useful and are actually helpful!)

I tend to enjoy mom blogs, humorous blogs, work at home blogs and deeply personal & eccentric blogs...I have actually blogmarked quite a few from blogexplosion and have added a couple bloggers to my blogroll! I am particularly interested in unique bloggers who are real and are making their mark on the blogging world!

So do you like my blog? ;)

PS: Wow! I didnt realize how many times I used the word blog!

What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?

What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?
I have always been a big fan of scary movies and books. I think my most favorite scary movie of all time is "The Shining". "The Ring" and the Halloween Series are pretty scary too! My favorite Halloween tv show is "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". I have watched it since I was a toddler and Halloween isnt the same without it. I am making it a holiday tradition for my kids to watch the Charlie Brown holiday shows too!
Now, go on over to our Mom Message Boards and post your favorite Halloween Movie for your chance to win some great prizes this week! We have prizes for Mom & Baby!

Yes...this is my (not so) insightful blog entry for the day...

Today I am tired and I am not really sure what to blog about...I have a lot on my mind and have a lot to do. Everytime I come up with something to write about I end up forgetting about it so here is today's entry...Do you ever feel that way?

So leave me a comment and give me some ideas on what to blog about this week....

Well I am going to answer a few business emails then eat something chocolate..then me & the baby are going to watch some tv. My 3yr. old has already fallen asleep...

Have a good evening,
Amanda

Lost Fan...

Last night I was flipping through the channels on the TV and found "Lost" on ABC. I had seen the previews before but never had a chance to watch it. Two reruns were shown last night and they were interesting and I was LOST to say the least...

Regular episodes are on Wednesdays and I think I have just found a good new show to watch. I'll be watching Wednesday night (if I remembet that its on)

Matthew Fox (from Party of Five-do any of you remember that show?) plays a doctor and it looks like he is the main character so far.

Anyone else out there a fan of LOST?

Homemade Baby Food Recipes

Our baby will be 4 months old in less than a week and so I have been looking for some homemade baby food recipes on the web...So far I have found some helpful sites but not many good or creative recipes. I have never tried homemade baby food recipes. I have always used commercial brands such as Gerber.

I have actually started feeding the baby about a tablespoon of rice cereal for a few days now and he seems to tolerate it...he makes funny faces..but who wouldn't?

I think I will stick with rice cereal for a couple more weeks then maybe try a fruit. I am not sure what the magic age is now to start feeding your baby solids but I think 4 months is OK.

Anyway, I still havent resolved the baby's Halloween costume dilemma...I'm still trying to come up with some ideas for a small baby...does anyone have any frugal ideas...or not?

PS- thanks to Kara from Moms Market for helping me figure out blogrolling!

Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is fast approaching...Have your kids decided on what they are going to dress up as? Have you chosen a costume for the baby?

At first our 3 year old wanted to be Woody from Toy Story then he saw a UK Football Uniform Costume ( which his papaw paid $35 for) and now that is what he is going to go as. He is really excited. He has been wearing it and playing in it for days.
As for our 3 1/2 month old- we dont know yet. It's his first Halloween and we havent come up with a costume yet. I thought about letting him wear one of his brother's old costumes but that just doesnt seem right since its his first Halloween. I've been trying to come up with some cheap ideas but havent really came up with anything yet...
Our city will be celebrating Halloween on the 28th this year since the 31st falls on a Sunday so I dont have much time left. I'm not good with sewing or putting things together and basically our only option is Wal-mart in this small town and it's too late to buy online. Does anyone know of any cheap and easy ideas for a costume for a baby?
if you do...tell me...seriously!

Keywords and my website...

I was just looking at my stats for this month and my site was found with some strange key phrases. Take a look at a few of them below. I just hope I don't get more hits from typing the middle one...

Here are a list of a few ways that people found my site via a search engine this month:

Freddy Kreuger (I am not even sure where this came from)

Erotic Mom Stories (I am lost on this one!)

Microwaveable Cakes (huh?)

What Peanuts Character Are You? I'm Schroeder!

I can't seem to stop taking these quizzes. They are fun...but so irrelevant to this blog!

Schroeder
You are Schroeder!

Which Peanuts Character are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Actually I don't remember a Schroeder! I watched all the Peanuts Holiday specials growing up and still do but still I can't seem to remember a Schroeder! The ones I do clearly remember are Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, and Lucy!

How did you become a work at home mom?

This is a question that so many people ask work at home moms everyday.

Before I became a stay at home mom I worked in the Human Resources department at a large university. After my first son was born, I decided that I absolutely could not go back to a job outside the home. So I went back to college to get a Master's Degree instead. In August of last year I had to do a project in one of my grad school classes that involved creating a website and that is how my first siteContests For Moms was created. Since then I own 2 more sites for moms and another site for parenting and smart babies is on the way - OurSmartBaby.com

How did you become a work at home mom? What did you do before you were a work at home mom? What kind of work at home mom are you?
I'd love to hear from some of you out there. I'd like to know that at least one person is reading what I am writing..lol!
