Hurricane Katrina and Gas Prices!
Wow! Gas prices are $3.09 per gallon here. That is ridiculous! It is at these times, that I am really happy that I am a work at home mom. No money is spent on gas at all!
One can assume that gas price increases is partially due to hurricane Katrina and possible price gouging! In some areas, gas is much lower and in some areas gas is higher. I think it is being taken advantage of in our area.
I woke up at 3:30 am this morning to my 14 month old crying with a bellyache and stuffy nose. He hasn't quite gotten over this cold yet. It seems like he has had it for over a week. As we were sitting on the couch, I watched news coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the major flooding, looting,etc... The flooding and devastation was unbelievable! It seemed like a lot of people were looting but some of the stuff were for much needed items such as food and diapers. For the people living there, there is no place open to shop and they need supplies. Organizations need to be there to handout supplies and necessities to people in need if they want the bulk of this to cease. These people need help and there are tons of people, organizations, and help centers in this nation that have money and connections to help.
This was horrible and it doesn't even seem real. But it is all too real for the people that live in these areas. My thoughts and prayers go out to them. For Hurricane Katrina news go here.
