Baby's First haircut

We were discussing haircuts in the mommmy forums today and so it inspired me to go ahead and cut our kid's hair. They have been needing haircuts for a while now but we kept putting it off for fear of crying and fits...lol...

Our oldest ( the 4.5..almost 5 yr old) absolutely hates haircut. I can't emphasize hate enough! But his hair was getting so shaggy and long that he really started looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo! Our baby ( the 18 month old) had never had a real haircut before so we didnt know how he would react.

Anyway, the baby did surprisingly fine. Both hubby and I cut their hair. The 4.5 yr.old is another story..it took me over an hour and a lot of convincing to finish cutting his hair and it still isn't completely straight.

Here is the outcome of our baby's first haircut

So, how do your kids react to haircuts? Do you cut their hair or do you take them to a stylist/barber to get it cut?

WEll it's hard to tell with our youngest yet- but Tyler used to absoulutely HATE it. Now he does fine. he trusts me more. He started likeing it when he was about 3 and I took him to COOl CUTS. He sat in a racecar and played video games and now loves his haircuts!

Hi ,
I found it impossible to cut my sons hair. My son now cuts his own hair. He has no mess to clean up because the unit attaches to your vacuum! Just set your desired hair length and the hair is safely cut, a perfect cut every time.
Thanks for the great letters,
take care, Brad
Daniel has Asperger's disease..
I've used the unit myself for 2 years and often get compliments..
