Baby Addictions
My 20 month old baby boy has some, we will call them, baby addictions...
Lately he goes around all day long attached to my leg and crying for candy or hauling around a box of cars and throwing them in my lap all hours of the day. People, I am serious, I am lucky I can breathe.
If I am not playing cars, I am reading ten books over and over. If I am not reading books, I am holding him. If I'm not holding him, he is holding onto me. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE every minute I spend with my children. I really really do but sometimes I just need a break. For like long enough to go pee... and then I can get back to playing again. But no when I go, he goes with me. I can't believe I'm telling the world this ( oh well, it's not the world just a few of you that actually read my blog).
Anyway, if you have children, did your child do this? I also have a 5 year who did not do this at that age. He loved playing alone in his room and he loved watching a few cartoons. The 20 month old won't even look at a tv. I guess I am glad about that but then again 20 a minutes in the morning wouldn't hurt while I drank my coffee. Would it?

hehe! My toddler is willing to watch tv, but I like to limit it. So yeah I am chased around the house, looking for things to keep the gal busy!!

ha. my oldest (4yrs now) did that at that age until I had the second one, now they play together!
My older one did and still always follows me around....but the younger one follows his older brother everywhere. Were you home all the time with the first one?
Sounds really normal to me. Give him some time...

I hope it's a phase! Sounds like it! May be hubby will give you a breather and you can go sit at starbucks for a few hours and read. :)
Hugs,

It is the age, that is for sure. My daughter was very clingy at that age. It too shall pass :)
Hi Amanda,
It's been a long time since we've talked! I've been swamped and actually had a few minutes free today and thought I'd look up your blog! I'm glad I did. And yes, my little one - 18 1/2 months - is the same way. He just HAS to go wherever Mommy goes and do whatever Mommy does. Some of the things he actually immitates me doing are so funny - but really sweet, too! Like everyone else, I'm sure it will pass, and I kinda think we'll even be a little sad when it does. Hope to hear from you soon!
BOTH of mine follow me everywhere. I have started to think I'm raising kids who don't know how to play without their mother.
I've ran some experiments lately. I walk into the laundry room and count how long it takes one or both of them to find me. Never longer then 10 seconds
