Mothers Come in All Shapes and Sizes
Yesterday while at my son's soccer game, a young girl came up to me and said, "Are you that baby's sister?" I said, "No, I am his mommy!". She said, "That's not possible!". I said, "I am his mommy". She said, "Well, mommies are supposed to be big!". Then I said, "Well I'm small. I'm special". She finally accepted it and moved on to playing with my 21 month old baby.
So a lesson learned is that mothers come in all shapes and sizes. I am not like most mommies. I'm petite and most people say I look very young for my age. Most people think this is a good thing. Some days it's not so good but on other days its OK. Although I get stares and questions on an almost daily basis, I'll never really get used to it!

We are on 2 separate sides of the issue. You are petite. And very beautiful, if I may say so. I am overweight and scared that people will say things to my kids because of that. I wish that we could just all be. That's it, just be.
Yep, we're on different sides here. I'm tall and wide, and no one ever thinks I'm too small to be Cordy's mom. Now, if they thought I was too old, I'd be hurt. :)
Being small and young looking can be good, though. As you get older you'll still never look your age!
lol great compliment!
I'm in the same boat. I'm 25 and have two kids, but I look like I'm still a teenager. I've even had people ask if I want a kids menu. I really don't like it when people tell me that it'll be so great when I'm 50... I don't care what I'm going to look like at 50, I care what I look like now, and I don't want to look like a teenager.
D- What are you talking about???
Amanda, we DO come in all shapes and sizes. I think the opposite of D. People act like I am too skinny to have popped out 2 chunky babies like I have. I just have a high metabolism. I know LOTS of small moms and have never thought that they were different. It can't be so much as you are small, you must just have the face of someone young which is a good thing. Being petite doesn't necessarily mean you look young. And if you do look that young, then you you are and will be a MILF! LOL. Remember when I didn't know what that was??
And for the post below this that I missed, My oldest son is such a Drama King too!
my son (t1j) asked me once why I was 'fatter' than Miss Melissa. His daddy had a talk with him abt tact, and I said that we are all ( say it together! ) different sizes...
BEST!
I get looked at weird because I think people think I'm really young- that makes me mad! Who cares if I'm 18 or 80? Ok- maybe not 80, but you get the picture lol.
Just dropping by after such a long time. Hope everything's ok.
Happy Easter!
I'm 30 and look a lot young, which is rather annoying when you have an 8 year old boy. I've had parents of his friends think I was his sister. You can call it a compliment, but its a little annoying.
Also one of our neighbors who has known my husband since he was little came by one day and he asked me if my dad was home. He thought my husband was my FATHER. He's only 5 months older than me. He wanted to die.
Totally in the same boat on looking more like a big sis than a mom, but I just have come to expect it and it doesn't bother me. It also bothered my sister. It is better though to be viewed as a sister than it would be viewed as older. I watch 10 years younger on TLC and am just really thankful for people to think I am 18 or 19 than in my 30s.
I have tagged you on my site to carry on with the meme that's going around. Don't hate me! Come read the rules, then join in the "fun".
I get the same thing. I was actually asked once if I was old enough to vote!! You should be thankful though - at least that's what everyone keeps telling me!
I'M IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU!
I have five children and they think I'm the babysitter just because I'm only five feet tall.
