PMS is Hazardous To Your Health

Someone should tell my family that (my) PMS is hazardous to their health today. I got up at 6:30 this morning and it took me almost an hour to fix 1 cup of instant coffee. I feel like crap and I feel like I am going crazy. Couple that with a 25 month old that does not want to wear a diaper EVER but yet doesn't want to potty train so he pees all over the house. At the same time, this child bangs his head on the floor when things don't go his way and that is quite often when you are 25 months old. I thought this head banging stage was about to be over. I read somewhere that head banging in toddlers can be a sign of increased intelligence. Well, I'd be happy to give up that extra bit of intelligence if my son would just STOP banging his head. I'm afraid he is going to get a concussion and seriously, when he does this in front of family it makes me look like a bad mother who cannot control her child. But, really, what can I do? He's been doing this since about 13 months. I don't know if he is overstimulated or understimulated ( this can't be possible) or if he is just plain crazy ( sorry, sweetheart but it does seem this way right now) but something's got to give soon.

On to the PMS, it has gotten really really bad for me after my 2nd pregnancy. During this time I feel like I am going crazy, I'm in pain, and I'm a different person ( the hubs can tell immediately...well, not immediately, but a few hours after it looks like a crazy woman has taken over my body and he says I act like his mother or my mother).

I seriously don't know how much more I can take of this PMS stuff. I want it to be over already...but I'm not even 30 yet, and if this is any indication of what menopause will be like, just go ahead and lock me up.

By the way, for those of you who havent been around for the weekend and have possibly been to Blogher, I'll give you a recap of my weekend. I got stung by a wasp and couldn't wear a shoe for a few days. Just go back a few posts. And if your pregnant or wanting to get pregnant, read this book review, ok.
* Also, I've updated my blogroll and those of you who asked to be on it should be there now. This list is getting terribly long so I also cut out a few blogs.

As for the head banging, he will have to stop eventually and don't worry about it. We all have kids and understand that you can't control their every movement. The pms, I'm with you on that one. I have had to cancel my appointments for 6 months now because I am always on my period when I am scheduled to go. I'm supposed to go Thursday and I refuse to leave the office until they find out what is wrong with me. My mil says I am going into menopause but I thought that 35 was young for that. Who knows.

awww yuck I totally understand the pms. Maybe the birth control pill or some other hormone leveling medication? I know I was way better off when I was on the pill than now all natural (that sounds terrible, there must be a natural way to relieve pms, I will have to ask and read around...ok I am going to stop thinking while typing a comment on your blog)

Not sure how long the pee'ing has been going on but Becca took at least 5 days of pure naked freedom before the bell went off to go sit on the potty. Now she sits 95% of the time when naked from the waist down. Drove us nuts at first but the end result was worth it.

Banging the head, i guess no attention may help?!?!

I definetly understand at 38 I am more than ready to go through menopause. Talk to your doctor. He/she can help you get through it.

When you have a quiet moment (don't laugh...in a 24 hour day there must be 1 quiet moment), put your feet up, have a cup of coffee and just relax.

Thinking of you!

My daughter must be fricking brilliant if head banging is a sign of intelligence. Now if I can just find someone to tell me that playing with her own poop is a sign of artistic genius I'll be set.

Well if your son keeps up the head banging someday he will do it too hard and then you won't have to worry about him being extra intellegent. lol I am sorry about the whole PMS thing. Mine isn't too bad but I used to get cramps from hell.

Have you tried some type of training pants for your youngest? Maybe if he's in somehting more like what his brother wears he would be more willing to wear them.

I never really had an issue with PMS'ing until after having my daughter. It hit hard around the time my daughter turned 5 months old, which was also the time my milk dried up. Darn hormones!

Hang in there, we all are here for you!

Oh I totally feel your pain. But you know that. I rant about it once a month. Seems we're on the same cycle this month. Blog Bitches Unite

I've been horribly moody since I got pregnant with this second baby. I hope that doesn't turn into bad PMS after I have him.

HUGS to you.

Oh you young things... just wait until 40+ hits... you don't EVEN know what PMS is until then! And then there's PMS combined with hot flashes, zits AND your first whisker! Ah life doesn't get much better than that. :-) Feed me the progesterone cream via IV please!

But first things first... INSTANT coffee? That husband of yours needs to see the crazy woman coming and run.. no ... sprint to Starbucks to get you a real cup of coffee... half the battle will be done right then and there.

As for the diaper issue and head banging... yep, he'll grow out of both and you will laugh about it someday but I know it's hard now. Hang in there.

I totally know how you feel. Yesterday I had the WORST headache. And I have migraines so I can't believe how much this headache kicked my butt. The only thing I can blame is PMS - that had to be the culprit! Grrr...

There are times of the year when I don't like being female...sigh. That's also one of the things I loved about being pg. But I'm not about to go down that road again, so I'll just have to deal with it.
