We Were Like Tom Cruise In War of The Worlds
After the first cloud to ground lightening bolt struck, my five year old son and I ran frantically out of the truck onto our front porch. The crack of thunder afterwards was so loud that it scared the hubs into staying inside the truck a few more minutes in hopes that he would avoid being hit by lightening.
After we were all inside, I look out the window to see people walking around outside like nothing was happening. I felt like my family and I were acting out a scene from War of The Worlds (you know, that part where the lightening starts striking everywhere and Tom Cruise looks all crazy) because we clearly looked crazy to these people around us. Maybe they were crazy for not caring whether the lightening struck them or not. I don't really know. But severe thunderstorms get me everytime.
Anyway, got any crazy/funny experiences to share or do you just wanna tell me about the crazy weather in your neck of the woods or even feel free to tell me that yeah we are crazy for acting like that?

We had lightning like that a couple of days ago. It was wicked! We were in the house and the kids kept wanting to stand at the windows to watch. I totally freaked out and screamed for everyone to stay away because they could get struck. What was hubby doing? Sitting at the computer, in front of 2 large windows, watching tv. I am the freak here in a house full of insanity lol.
We had loud thunder,scary lightning, and heavy rain.
Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.

This was from a really long time ago, but when I was about 9 or 10 my dad and brother and I went fishing. It was a beautiful day. In the middle of the lake, the clouds came, the wind picked up, the rain poured. We couldn't get the engine started. My dad tried rowing us in but one of the oarlocks broke. We thought we wre dying. We finally caught someones attention who helped get us in, once we were in the sun came back out and it was nice again. We felt kinda silly, but we really thought we were dying.
Yesterday we had such a bad storm here, that a tree fell into my house. I actually blogged about it last night. It scared the pants off me!
hehe I can totally imagine running in all crazed like that!!
I love storms and here in California they get nothing!!! We rarely see clouds!
