Separating Work From Home...
Do you ever just feel like you are doing so much and can never catch up no matter what? You never get any breaks and nothing ever seems to get done and you get to a point where you are just burnt out. Burnt out on what exactly I don't know. I guess just burnt out in general.
I feel like this lately (just BLAH) even though I just came back from a three day break. I feel like I need another break. I'm not depressed. I'm not anxious. I'm quite happy actually but I'm just STUCK. Maybe that is not the right word. I feel like no matter what I am doing I am never really taking a break for just me. I think a large part of it has to do with the fact that I work from home and I tend to have trouble separating work from home life. I work in the mornings while the kids have breakfast. I don't usually sit down and just enjoy my coffee and breakfast anymore. I eat while I work. When I take the kids outside, I sit down and usually work. After dinner and late at night I usually work. Lately I just havent allowed myself to be in the now and I know it is my fault for having a bad schedule and bad time management as well as just an overall compulsion to work more or just use the computer mainly because I blog personally, I blog professionally, I own several websites and I work in marketing for a company at home(as of two weeks ago). I have overextended myself. I seriously need to setup and stick with a home work schedule that allows me a whole lot more free time since that is the whole point of working at home ( or atleast for me anyway).
Does anyone else feel like this? Anyone got any good schedule ideas? Something I could actually stick to? Want to complain along with me?

Well, I don't work at home so my schedule wouldn't work for you. There are times that I feel like I just don't have enough time in the day however. When my life gets too chaotic, I take a step back and breathe. I won't allow myself to lose site of what is the most important, family and friends. Good luck!
I do not work at home, however my design hobbies are quite time consuming and I have considered putting more time into it, in order to make myself a work at home mom someday.
My advise (although not in your shoes) is make one of those crazy big family schedules that you see in families houses. Your kids will know what to expect and when. And after the initial effort i making it, people say it saves them!
Just an idea to relieve the pressure off you. You can't be in a pressure cooker forever without letting off some steam!
if I had any advice to offer whatsoever I would, but I suck at it too. I hear the fly lady is good for helping keep a cleaning schedule (http://www.flylady.net/) , but I can't even get past her step one, so don't ask me.
I have tried numerous times to leave a comment on the other site. It is a hit and a miss ... half the time they do not accept my password ... yada yada yada anyway thought I would let you know how discouraging it was to do so :)
Chelle, I'll have to let them know. Thanks for trying though. I do appreciate it. :)
aww thats frustrating! i work outside of home. and i never thought about that. about women that work from home. how they seperate home and work if they work AT home. good point. good luck sorting it all out!
I am not the best at organizing and scheduling, yet I try to ACT like I am.
Hugs!
Can you outsource any of your work? Day to day type stuff that is fairly easy or you can easily train someone else to do. I have a virtual assistant (VA) do a lot of my work. That's how I manage it.
Wow. You have a lot on your plate. I feel for you! I don't do as much blogging as you do and I STILL feel like it takes up too much of my time. I don't really have any advice except maybe slow down with the blogging that doesn't bring in any income??
Thanks everyone. I think I have figured something out as long as I can stick with it. Wish me luck!
I am so not a schedule person, which really sucks because this fall I HAVE to stick to a schedule for homeschooling my three kids.
I definitely think it's a good idea that you take some time for yourself, scheduled or unscheduled. I feel your pain!
I don't work from home, but I have the same stressors -- feeling burned out and like I have no time for anything, because there are always things to be done. It's frustrating! but I do agree, being able to take some time for myself (even if it's just a little bit of time) does help.
lol...feeling blah? Moi? Yahhhhhhh!
I just posted about that last week. My work and my blogging are so intertwined, I feel like I live on my computer. When I'm not working, I'm thinking about work. it's crazy! Looking forward to seeing your schedule.
Congrats on your new kitty! He's super cute. And the kid's not bad either ;)
