Why Does This Happen To Me?
I woke up at 6am this morning so that I could be up before everyone else in the house and have some quiet time with just me, my coffee, and my computer. This is part of my new, more productive schedule. I need to get caught up on all my work since I am lagging behind just a little bit. Seriously, it's not that bad.
So, as I'm getting up out of bed, I hear a little voice say, "Mommy, hold you".
And that means that my two year old is NOT going back to sleep anytime soon.
Instead of quiet coffee time, I got to drink my coffee with the Wiggles. Right now my son is sitting here beside my desk playing with some toy cars. He keeps asking me to play but I keep saying that mommy really does need to work this morning. I feel bad for saying no but if I get it all done now I'll have the rest of the day to play and take my boys outside (if it doesn't rain again).
Why I feel bad I don't know? Working is a part of life and he will survive by playing on his own but that doesn't make the guilt or feeling like I am the not-so-good mommy right now go away.

I think it is so hard when you wake up with a mindset then get interrupted.
You shouldn't feel guilty for feeling that way. Moms need alone mom time. It was disappointing.
I would have felt the same way. Maybe you can reschedule at naptime OR put a nice long movie on for the kiddos :)
I completely understand this. What are you doing inside of my head. I could have written this post.
Its hard not to be disappointed or to feel guilty. UG.
Don't feel bad! Leah plays in my office next to me all the time! I'm just happy that she can (for the most part) occupy herself enough (besides trying to play "Crazy" on the computer). LOL.
Don't feel bad! I know you spend alot of time with your kids. it's ok not to do it ALL the time.
oh man, just think of it this way.. you got work out of the way so you had MORE time to play later. it sucks. no matter what you do, something will ALWAYS make you feel guilty.
Awww. I'm sorry. I dunno why it happens to you, but if you figure it out please let me know. It happens to me about 40% of the time.
I'm just getting to the stage where I can explain to Eabha that Mamma and Dadad go to bed later that bubas (babies) go to bed when the sun does.
She sleeps in the same room as us but usually in a different bed, how about your sons?

P.S Thanx for the video, our daughter LOVES that video you posted before.."Be Careful Bubba" - "Eat Food"... She asks to watch it constantly.
Thanx for your lovely comments, getting them ALWAYS makes me smile :)
That is why I get my quiet time after they go to bed instead of trying to get up before them. That and I am a night owl so I hate getting up early any way.
I was getting up early and I swear Becca had a sixth sense and got up too! *sigh* I was so frustrated and sadly I was not doing something important as doing work, I was working on a hobby!
