Our Family Needs Your Prayers

If my writing doesn't make a whole lot of sense over the course of the next few days, you may want to know that it's because I've been struck with grief and loss. Our entire family has. A very close relative has died while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. You can read more here.

It is very surreal at the moment. Tragedy has struck almost 3,000 US families since this war began but you never think it will happen to someone in your family.

I ask that you please keep his wife & baby daughter, his parents, and all of our family & friends in your thoughts & prayers throughout this very difficult time.

My heart goes out to anyone who has lost someone from this war or any war. I'm not a very political person and I never have been, and I don't care at the moment who's right or who's wrong. I just think our troops should be brought home.

Life is very fragile. It can come and go in an instant. All I ask is that you take some time out of your day to wholeheartedly truly appreciate your life and your family.

Amanda, I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know how you were related to him but that is irrelevant. I will be praying for your entire family to have some sense of peace and understanding. I will pray that his wife receives comfort in the upcoming weeks and years. All that you can do is rally your family together, hold them tighter and try to get through this time. It will be difficult for everyone. My dad was in the Marines during Vietnam and him and my mom still talk about friends that they lost and how hard it is. I hope that you are able to find the strength that you need to carry you through. Let me know if you need anything at all. You have our number, don't hesitate to call if you want to.

Amanda, my deepest sympathies for your family's loss. I know words are inadequate to help with what you must be feeling, but if there's anything I can do for you, please let me know.

I am so sorry. The Missouri soldier in the article was the son of the friend I wrote about yesterday.

I know we don't know eachother at all, but I just wanted to say I am so sorry for your family's loss. It's devastating and awful for any family to go through something like that. Your family will be in my thoughts.

Amanda,
I am so sorry to hear about Jon. He sounds like he was loved by many.

I will take the time to appreciate my family because you are right....we don't know what tomorrow will bring. I also want to say how thankful I am for the men and women who sacrafice their lives so the rest of us can enjoy the freedoms we have. For them, I am eternally grateful( and to their waiting and supportive families)
I am so, so sorry for you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I agree- I think it's time to bring our men and women home so this stops. It's so sad to hear about another heart breaking and another family losing a loved one. My heart goes out to you and your family, and I will keep you all in my prayers.
