Happy Send a Hug Day!

Today is the official Send-A-Hug day!

So I'm sending out hugs to all my blogging and online friends and I'm actually giving *real* hugs to those with me today! Aren't you jealous? ( That's a joke...)

Happy Send-A-Hug day!

Don't forget to give those you love a hug today! You can be extra nice and with the holiday spirit by giving hugs to those you like and some that you don't like so much...

I also found some cute e-cards online that you can send to your friends HERE

Is it really January?

Yesterday was another unseasonably warm January day so we went outside to play! ( Photos included :) ) This weather is driving me crazy...it can't decide whether it wants to snow or be near 70 degrees! Come on, I want some real snow!

Anyone else experiencing weird January weather?

Thirteen New Words My 18 month old knows...

Thirteen New Words My 18 month old knows from Petite Mommy

I finally decided I would *try* the Thursday Thirteen and when I decided to do it I find out it may very well be my last time of doing it. So here goes anyways...

1. Car ( He pronounces it the way someone in New Jersey would...but we are in & from KY..it's cute!)
2. Hay ( He learned this from his farm truck book)
3. Wall ( Daddy JC taught him this last night)
4. This ( I guess he figured this one out on his own...since I constantly say you want this, you want this...???)
5. Mamaw ( His 4.5 yr old brother taught him this)
6. Papaw ( His brother taught him this one too)
7. Bike ( He is referring to a bike and a motorcycle here)
8. Digger ( Another one from his farm truck book..he loves that book)
9. Book ( This should be obvious..he LOVES books. That's pretty much all he has in his hands all day long other than food)
10. Cheese ( Can you tell I take lots of pictures? )
11. Bottle ( Umm..yeah he occassionally drinks a bottle even though he was breastfed an entire 12 months and weaned...I'm lost on that one too...)
12. Eat (He can do this one in sign language too...it's adorable)
13. Pee-Pee ( He is referring to both the act of peeing and the body part he pees with...Daddy JC taught him that one too...lol...)

The Possessed No Shoes Guy from American Idol 5 ...

A new season of American Idol started last night. Yes, I watch it! It's one of my guilty pleasures...I just like it! It was as you would guess funny, shocking and down right rude but that's what makes it American Idol.

I was surprised to see so few talented people. I was not impressed with anyone from last night..It was all just normal and expected type of voices!

No one really stood out except the crazy/possessed no shoes guy that the judges actually put through to the next round. What were they thinking? Any theories on this? Or am I the only one that watched? By the way, what's one of your guilty pleasures?

Mom blog on search engines! I'm what?

I'm #4 and #5 for the keyword "mom blog" in google. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing! I mean its sort of a good thing but I'm not sure I'm the best mom blog to be going to! There are tons of mom bloggers out there that are such better reads than myself so I suggest you go visit some of them below.

Some of my current favorite mom blogs are:

NotSoOrdinaryMom

Grumpy Mommy

Rockstar Mommy

and a new one I recently came across because she commented on my blog...

Confusion Never Stops/Karla

Also, be sure to check out my blogroll...lots of mom bloggers there too...

Belief...

Belief, makes things real.
Makes things feel, feel alright.
Belief, makes things true.
Things like you, you and I.

Tonight, you arrested my mind.
When you came to my defense.
With a knife in the shape of your mouth,
in the form of your body, with the wrath of a god.
Oh, you stood by me, Belief

Builds from scratch.
Doesn't have to relax, it doesn't need space.
Long live the queen and I'll be the king.
In the colour of grace.

Tonight, you arrested my mind.
When you came to my defense.
With a knife in the shape of your mouth,
in the form of your body, with the wrath of a god.
Oh, you stood by me, belief.

I'm going to yell it from the rooftops.
I'll wear a sign on my chest.
That's the least I can do, it's the least I can do.

Tonight, you arrested my mind.
When you came to my defense.
With a knife, in the shape of your mouth,
in the form of your body, with the wrath of a god.
Oh, you stood by me.
And I'll stand by my belief.

This song really strikes a chord with me...it explains how I feel with my life...sometimes this is all we need...

These lyrics are from Belief by Gavin Degraw...you should listen...You can listen to his music at GavinDegraw.com

Early Morning Baby...

This morning baby man ( our 18 month old) woke up unusually early and the first thing he wanted to do was read a book. So here we were reading a book before 6am.

After reading the book 5 times, drinking some milk and eating toast he decided he would crawl up into my arms and fall back asleep. He is now sleeping peacefully as is everyone else in the household...except me. I'm really tired but thought I'd enjoy the quiet time instead of going back to sleep.

Ok, so I know I am a little behind in de-lurking week. But I've been moving so I have an excuse. Anyway, if you visit my blog on a regular basis or just came by it today then leave a comment. Anyone who leaves a comment from now until Monday will be added to my blogroll (for atleast 1 month or longer if I'm lazy and decide not to erase it or even longer if you add me to your blogroll and you become one of my regular reads...) Happy De-lurking! :)

Baby's First haircut

We were discussing haircuts in the mommmy forums today and so it inspired me to go ahead and cut our kid's hair. They have been needing haircuts for a while now but we kept putting it off for fear of crying and fits...lol...

Our oldest ( the 4.5..almost 5 yr old) absolutely hates haircut. I can't emphasize hate enough! But his hair was getting so shaggy and long that he really started looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo! Our baby ( the 18 month old) had never had a real haircut before so we didnt know how he would react.

Anyway, the baby did surprisingly fine. Both hubby and I cut their hair. The 4.5 yr.old is another story..it took me over an hour and a lot of convincing to finish cutting his hair and it still isn't completely straight.

Here is the outcome of our baby's first haircut

So, how do your kids react to haircuts? Do you cut their hair or do you take them to a stylist/barber to get it cut?
