The Bikini That Will

Either A.) Be the death of me or B.) get my butt (and, um, abs) in shape.
Last month I talked about how Victoria's Secret practically forced me into shopping for bathing suits in the dead of winter. Well, I never actually bought anything until yesterday and the bad part is that I bought it without trying it on. Of course, that's not half as bad as having to take 2 little boys into a dressing room with me and trying on a billion bathing suits in front of them and THAT horrid mirror.
Before deciding on buying that black VS bikini on the left, I actually thought about buying a tankini. Yes, a tankini. Because I'm a mom and I guess that's what moms and those over 30 should be wearing. But you know what, I've never in my life worn anything but a bikini and I think I'd feel less comfortable and slightly ridiculous in a tankini even with my messed up stomach and belly button (shown on the left Yikes!) not to mention the minimal boobs left from breastfeeding. Ah, the issues that I have...
I bought that bikini early as MOTIVATION to get myself in better shape. Last year I was quite self conscious of my odd looking post-baby midsection but aren't we all? Why do I worry so much? NO one cares anyway basically because their too busy worrying about their own flaws. I don't want to feel that way anymore whether it be because I actually get in shape or simply because I just get over it. Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy?Labels: bikini, mom bathing suit, mommy, motherhood, victorias secret catalog

You look great in your bikini. I can't wear one - I'm pretty sure it's illegal. When you start calculating your weight in tonage rather than pounds, you're not allowed to wear a bikini.
I say wear a bikini as long as it makes you feel good.
Oh, and here's a weird coincidence - the first three letters of my word verification: pig. I think the Gods are trying to tell me something.
Girl you are fine ... be real, that is great role modeling for your sons ... Help them understand that real women do not look like Victoria Secret models :)
I just have to tell you how jealous I am that you can wear a VS bikini. Even pre-baby, I couldnt pull it off. Go Mama!!! :)
I'm with the others; no bikinis for me. But even before kids, I couldn't wear them. One reason: cell-u-lite.
You look great! I wouldn't think twice about it if I looked as good.
You look awesome! I may have to beat you up you hot thang you!
I'm with the others...you look GREAT! I wouldn't be brave enough to post a picture of myself wearing a bikini...although I am brave (or insane?) enough to wear one sometimes. Three kids later...
My goal this year is a modest two peice. This is a huge goal for me since I haven't worn one in years.
I have dropped 12 pounds in a week and a half so I know I can drop all 30 pounds but losing all that extra skin is another story! (I'm in a special strict diet for health reasons...benefit is losing weight)
I think you look great and I bet you'll feel you're ready for that hot black one in no time! For what it's worth...I think you're in the best shape of any mommy I know!
You look awesome in a bikini, I'm jealous! I just bought the same black VS bikini (the price was great!) but I also bought a tankini. Thanks to the little monsters, my chi chis ometimes don't want to stay put without a little extra assistance, so I think the tankini will do better for the water park (and slides!). The other is perfect for our pool and yardwork!
BTW, I found you from Michele's.
Ok, I know this is posting a comment a month late, but I totally know where you're coming from! Pre-baby I was 5'2 and about 90lbs or so... now 15 months post baby I'm 5'2 and 95lbs, with a really ugly flap on my tummy and stretch mark ridden butt! I totally want to look similar to how I did before, I don't feel comfy in my own skin either. So there are some women with worse before and after pics, what matters though is how you FEEL. Do something about it, I keep telling myself to do pilates.. I did a pilates class pre-baby and can tell ya that it'll tone your tummy for sure! It might not look 100%, but toning your core and helping to strengthen your stomach and back muscles, it'll do wonders. I've just been lazy, unmotivated etc etc. - and might enroll in a class when my DD can go more than an hour without me ;) (clingy stage!).
Good luck, just remember, there is someone out there that is a petite mom and has the same problem... You arent the only one getting those "but you look hot how you are! You're so skinny you dont need to exercise" kinda comments ;)
