Mommy Meltdown
So our son starts Kindergarten in 3 1/2 weeks. Yep, you heard me 3 WEEKS! I am freaking out over here. Instead of homeschooling we are going to *try* out public school. If things don't work out the way we expect them to then homeschooling here we come!
These are a few things that have pushed me to my limits this week ( my Kindergarten anxiety included)...
Judgmental people ( I know you've heard enough already)
Dumb (very dumb) teenagers posing as helpful young adults who just don't know how to handle kids.(I don't want 19 year old kids being my son's role model )
People asking us why our son is going into Kindergarten at the age of 6 instead age of 5, and why we don't just send him on to 1st grade (Because we are his parents! THATS WHY!)
Feeling like people are judging our parenting based on our son's introverted personality. WTH? (Maybe this is all perceived but whatever)
Not having a support system locally. This sucks. Enough said.
Needing a break and not getting one.
Work BURNOUT.
So have you had any near meltdowns lately? Any Moms who have kids starting school this year?

Thanks for the email- and I hope you have a much better day today! Um, meltdowns are common here lately! And I have a son starting first grade and one starting kindergarten this year!
Steph
It's so hard when the kiddos start school. I remember having a meltdown when both kids started kindergarten.
All will be fine :) Just take a deep breath!
Oh yes. Read my post today. ANd my son just went off to VBS today and I cried. Mine starts in a month!!!! :(
Meltdowns are a part of our house this month...not the 2 year old's, but his mommy's. From everyone I've talked to, it's an emotional month all around. Just join the fun! We promise to hold your hand and assure you all will be well.
My daughter started Kindergarten TODAY! I was more nervous about it than she was. I sitting here waiting for 2pm to come around so I can anxiously pick her up. hee hee
that sucks about the locally support, we have tons out here if feel like i should homeschool sometimes! i can ask a few friends for some resources and see if anything can reach you out there. i have alot of friends that homeschool and the hook up with our some private christian school (where my kids go) for insight too. let me know! hugs :)
sorry, that was 'they' hook up with - and - 'small' private school. i really should proof read better! :) you can email me at home, you have the address!
Meltdowns are very familiar here too! Hugs! It is so hard when we parent different than the mainstream. Not have a local support system is totally hard. I am now in the position to have to rebuild a community around me in a very small town. It is way hard. It has made me more thankful for the friends I have through blogging!
Believe in you and your kids ... screw everyone else :D
I think thats cool that you are starting your son later. I wish I would have started my daughter way later than I did. She was 4 about to be 5. She is ALWAYS the youngest and always trailing behind. I am considering home schooling after I see how the first trimester goes in the 5th grade.
Anyway kindergarten is a great time. He will enjoy it fully! :)
People always seem to have an opinion, but yours is the one that counts. He's your son, you love him more than anyone. No one has his best interest in mind the way you do! No one knows him like you do. You're the expert when it comes to your child.
As far as meltdowns go, I'm all about the meltdown lately. The people I live with are a little afraid of me. I yelled around for ten minutes today about cucumbers. I don't know what's wrong with me.
Oh yes, I've had meltdowns. Although, most of what you said doesn't apply to me that doesn't mean we don't all have our own type of meltdown. Hang in there :)
