Kid Entrepreneurs
Recently our 6 year old son expressed interest in making some extra money by starting his own business . I love the fact that he is interested in what I am doing and that he wants to be an entrepreneur. I also think it's great that he just wants to make money so that he can save it to help us buy our own home and a new car. Right now he is set on a black hummer for his daddy. ;)
So what do you think of kid entrepreneurs? Is it just a fun way of making some extra money like babysitting, yard work or more?
I bought 3 domain names for my son today and the hubs is currently installing wordpress for Future Bam. I will do a lot of the work for him at first and until he can read well on his own. However, all of his ideas will go into the sites. I'm really looking forward to being a co-worker with my 6 year old son.Labels: kid entrepreneur, work at home mom work at home

He's really a sharp kid! I hope you have fun working together.
When I read your title "Kid Entrepreneurs" all I could think of was that movie KidCo. Did you ever see it? It was an 80s movie. These kids try to save their father's horse farm by going into the fertilizer business on their own. It's a great movie, actually.
I definitely remember that movie now that you have mentioned it. I wonder if I can get it for my son.
What a cool idea!
I recently posted about this topic, too. My kids are too young, but when they are older I'd love to get them involved in a business...I want them to have the freedom I have.
Good for you son!
Nell
I wish I had kids. If I did, by the time they would graduate high school they wouldn't need a job and would only go to college if they wanted to.
I would try to teach them to make money right from the start so they would never have to rely on anyone! It would be so much fun to be able to do Internet Marketing with your kid.
Wow - as a mother of two young boys this amazes and scares me at the same time! Incredible that they have such a supportive and pro-active Mom; scary in that all I remember from being a 6-year old is climbing trees. Is this just a sign of the times, or is it that we have more tools available to help turn our kids' ideas into reality sooner?
My son finds buckeyes and makes necklaces. I think it's awesome, and I like his taste....
I think it's great that your son wants to explore entrepreneurship. My kids started at that at a young age too. My friend and I started a free resource site for kids in business too - http://www.showkidsthemoney.com
Check out this new website that allows you to prurchase and re sell them. www.swansonvisions.com I have purchased many things here for my new young entrepreneur and he has sold many of things just to family. They (they web people) allowed us to come up with a design, the built it, advertised it and they have sold four of them so far. It was the tree of hope. They sent us a check for over 68% of the proceeds. The other 12% they used for putting it all together. Check them out my wife and I love them. It is better than ebay thats for sure. www.swansonvisions.com
