My 3yr. Old Saw Me Cry Yesterday

So today I've got nothing better than to tell you about how I bit my tongue yesterday while eating a sandwich. I bit it so hard that I started crying in front of my 3 year old. What kind of adult bites their tongue and cries over it? Furthermore, what kind of person bites their tongue, cries over it then blogs about it to the world? Me, apparently.

So as to not scare Baby Picasso, I quit crying and shook uncontrollably instead. That didn't go over so well either.

And if you must know, it' still hurts like a $%*&^# today! Go ahead and laugh!

So have you ever cried in front of your child? How did they react?

My kids have seen me cry before. I'm pregnant.....enough said.

If I do something stupid like stub my toe and get hurt, they try to comfort me, but if its just plain hormones, Daddy says something like "Mommy's just being pregnant right now kids. It's ok."

Whether I cry in front of the kids or do something wrong like raise my voice, I always talk with them afterwards and let them know that Mommy is human. Grown-Ups aren't perfect, and they aren't always right!

Of course! I simply explain that Mommy is sad. My daughter will give me a hug and ask if I feel better. I usually do. Those 2-year-old hugs seem to cure everything.

When I cry, Julia cries with me. Then, she'll try to make me feel better by giving me her toys. It's such a sweet gesture. It actually does make me feel better.

My daughter had seen me cry a lot when I was pregnant. I think she was a bit confused. It doesn't help that I'm such a sap either.

I've bitten my tongue several times too.
