So I Was Gonna Call This Post...

...Leaving on a Jet Plane when I realized that I had already used that up last year. See, here. That old post explains this is something we just do every time we go on a road trip. So, were leaving in a car AGAIN. And, we are driving several hours South to the Atlantic Ocean. Yippee...the beach...for 8 days!

I'll *try* and send a virtual post card VIA this here blog. It'll be a brief post saying," Hi! We're here!" with pictures considering I'll be on vacation. And, vacation means a break from all things technical except my NEW Ipod(which has a great playlist BTW featuring Jonny Lang, John Mayer, Akon, Gwen Stefani, Marc Broussard, Coldplay, Aqualung, and John Legend). Plus I CANNOT miss the Lost Season Finale. Besides I'll be sitting on the beach all day.

When I get back from vacation I'll reveal our Metromamma Wrap winner. Also, take a moment and enter our Presto.com & HP Printing Mailbox Giveaway this week. It's super easy to enter and it's a GREAT prize to be had!
*And, I want to say Hi to my sisters. I didn't know for sure they both read this crazy old mommy blog regularly until last week. I hope to get some pics online for you all. :)

Who Knew...

that I would be called a b*tch over <------ THAT!

I got quite the negative comment today about this humorous tongue-in-cheek sort of post, Shrek's Babies...WTH?

I've read and heard ALOT of opinions about the Shrek 3 babies and not once during my time of reading the many negative comments, like mine, did I think another person was being a b*tch or embarrassing themselves All I can figure out is that the person who left the anonymous (of course) comment is completely DUMB. Is that fair?

A few of the comments I read elsewhere were:

"Their ugly in a cute sort of way". Yep. Totally Agree.

"Those babies freak me out!". Again, I agree.LOL.

Lastly, what is the deal with calling someone a name over their opinion on a toy? And, thanks to all the commenters that did not condemn me to hell for posting something that I thought was funny. And, to Leslie, who thinks I've finally made it. LOL. It's either that or I have a "crack" after me. So, does being a bitch suit me? ;)

Shrek's Babies...WTH?

Have you all seen these crazy looking Shrek 3 baby dolls? I mean, seriously, what little girl (or boy just to be PC) is going to like that doll? These things scare me and I'm an adult. I couldn't imagine having one next to me while I slept not to mention they look like little alien babies. C'mon are kids really wanting these things?

I looked online and saw that they were sold out in many places but guess what, you can get them on Ebay! OMG! I saw them trying to be sold for upwards of a $100 bucks.

And, if you just so happen to be one of those parents that are running out and buying your kid a Shrek baby, oh please tell me why? What is the attraction? Speaking of buying toys, I actually need to buy a present for my niece's 7th birthday party today. Do you think she'd be excited about one of these?

So I know I'm guilty of buying every version of a Spongebob plush doll there is for my son but holy crap these Shrek babies are FREAKIN' UGLY!

I know the Shrek movies are absolutely adorable and have had the chance to watch parts 1 and 2 with my 6 year old but the Shrek babies have gone too far.

If the masterminds behind the Shrek babies would just so happen to want to send* me one of these little dolls, I'd be happy to review it and videotape my kids reaction to it. They'll either love it or hate it! So, what are you waitin' for? ;) And, speaking of reviews, go on over to www.AMomsReview.com this week for some news and reviews! Be sure and add us to your reader because we have some great things coming for you!

* I don't seriously expect the creators of these Shrek babies to read my request but it sure would be funny if they did. And, that would show the world what kind of power us mommies really do have on line.

Ahh, Nothing Tops This!

Vacation time's a coming soon...

Playing in the Ocean at the beach

It's no surprise that vacation time (which for us usually roles around at the end of May every year) is my absolute favorite time of the year topping even Halloween & Christmas(my next 2 favorites in that order!)

Our vacation each year is the only time that I feel truly free from stress & responsibilities, I'm relaxed and I don't feel like I'm on a schedule. I also get the luxury of having someone else to watch the kids, feed the kids, and play with the kids for the most part. It's pure delight!

Our vacations usually consist of laying on the beach all day, then eating, then swimming in the pool, then eating, then laying on the beach some more, then eating, and finally walking on the beach. It's 8 days of pure bliss...

I wish you were all going with me. ONLY 3 more days till we leave. The only thing I dread is the 8-10 hour (depending on how many stops we have to make) car trip down and then back. No airplanes for us!

*The winners for the Franklin and The Turtle Giveaway are:

Chelle
Leslie
Scribbit
Awesome Mom
Jacquie

Ladies, please email me with your full name & address before Tuesday afternoon and I'll forward your information on to our sponsor. Thanks for entering!

Also, there are some NEW reviews up over at our Mom Reviews website, amomsreview.com

I'm Probably an Alpha-Beta Mix Mom!

Or maybe I'm neither. If you are in the dark about what an alpha or beta(slacker) mom is then go to this article to get caught up on all this drama & labeling!

Sometimes I think I'm like an Alpha mom and it would appear that I am because

Most of my life is digital, I'm tech savvy, I'm connected to the internet most of the day and I go to sites and blogs for advice.

I'm educated

I run a business online

I spend most of our household money

I feel like everything should be perfect for my kids

One thing I do agree on is this quote from the CBS news website and I think all moms, not just alpha moms, would do this:

"Smith learned that researchers believe that if you satisfy an Alpha Mom, she'll tell 10 other women. And if you dissatisfy her, she'll tell 300".

Then other times I'm a big slacker also known as beta mom

I feed my kids junk food

I let my kids watch Spongebob & tons of other movies while I do necessary work and by necessary work I do not mean clean the house, I mean a job that puts food on our table (and what is wrong with that? I mean, SERIOUSLY?).

We don't do playgroups

I prefer to let my boys play in the yard instead.

I don't feel it's necessary to throw my kids into every extracurricular activity coming and going.

I'm relaxed most of the time and although I do worry about doing everything in my power to raise good children, I don't go overboard and I'm not over the top on everything that involves my children or how I parent them. I know I can't be a Supermom.
And, now that I'm getting down to the end of this entry, I realize that none of this labeling really matters anyway. All that matters is that I love my children, support them and who they are as individuals, teach them, be the best I can for them, and spend my time with them. Because all we really have is time and memories.

Oh Wow! Season Finale 3 of Grey's Anatomy Tonight!

Wow. I didn't realize that tonight was the season finale of Grey's Anatomy, one of my favorite shows and quite possibly one of your favorite shows because let's face it, who doesn't watch Grey's Anatomy? I mean how could you resist McDreamy & McSteamy? And, just for the record I prefer McSteamy over them all ;)

Anyway, on to the finale...I wonder what will happen? Gosh, I'm so excited you'd actually think this was my LIFE I was talking about. Oh well, it's entertaining to say the least!

This is Hilarious!

Yeah, I'm late to the fun (if you wan't to call it that) as usual. I think I did this celebrity lookalike thing sometime ago but forgot about it or thought it was stupid or something..not that I think it still isn't stupid because why does it matter what celebrity I resemble, and really do I seriously resemble any of these people anyway? I don't think so. Alot of people have told me I resemble Rachel Ray even my 6 year old son, and I think someone left a comment once here that I looked like her but that didn't come up in the myheritage site..maybe Rachel Ray isn't on it. Anyhow, it's Thursday, I haven't got much going on,luckily, and I thought I'd do something out of character and silly so I present you with my celebrity lookalikes.

Oh, and don't forget about our Franklin and The Turtle Lake Treasure Giveaway. We have copies to give away to 5 lucky parents! Yay! Enter before tomorow night midnight !

Oh, and go and do yours at MyHeritage and tell me who you look like!

A Fun Franklin Video Review & Contest

We discovered Franklin around our oldest son's first birthday over 5 years ago! He absolutely adored this cute little Turtle. We watched the cartoons and bought many of the books. Our son is now 6 and still enjoys Franklin as much as he did when he was younger.

We were recently sent HBO's newest Franklin DVD release called Franklin and The Turtle Lake Treasure. Our 6 year old son agreed to do a quick video review (of course I had to bribe him with money) And, for entertainment value on behalf of my accent, make sure you see the video. ( This is our first video for amomsreview.com in a series of upcoming realistic reviews)

You can click the youtube video link here to see our son's video review of Franklin and The Turtle Lake Treasure then go to our Mom Reviews website to read a full review and see the video again.

We are also giving away 5 copies of Franklin and The Turtle Lake Treasure, which hits stores on May 22nd, 2007. To enter this giveaway, leave a comment & your email address in this post. Five random winners will be announced on Friday night! Be sure and tell all your friends and family about this fun giveaway!

More Than I Can Handle?

I'm experiencing serious mommy brain at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if I turn into an incoherent lunatic sometime soon. With extra stressors thrown our way this week, and 2 kids that just keep going and going and going like they are supercharged on sugar I feel like I just may be losing it. At least I know I'm not alone or that's what I've read recently anyway. I keep hearing that saying or whatever, that says God doesn't give you anymore than you can handle. Well, let me tell you, that is a load of BS. Seriously. Does anyone really believe that?

Any words of wisdom? Right now things suck. I'll get over it. I know that. Venting OVER. Ok, I sort of feel better. Thankfully, vacation comes next Tuesday and for a whole 8 days I can pretend everything is the greatest. Plus we will have help with the boys ALL week (the in-laws & 2 other families are going with us) which basically means that the hubs and I can be lazy and act like kids if we so desire, and you know what, I sooo desire that right about now.

And, How Was Your Mother's Day?

My Mother's Day started out kind of rough...no breakfast in bed, no sleeping in, and two sick kiddos. As the day went on, my mood improved and the kid's crankiness as well as snotty noses improved so we went out to dinner. After dinner, we were going to go see Spiderman 3 but opted for indoor mini golf instead. We had fun. I think I won but I'm not sure since keeping an accurate score was next to impossible with a near 3 year old running around the indoor course thinking he could jump on, slide on, and pretty much torture the entire golf course. Note to self & to all of you out there thinking it would be a good idea to take a young child to a mini golf course: Do not take a child under 3 to a mini golf course as pure chaos will surely result.

So, how was your day?

Oh, and I'm the mom blogger of the week over at CrazyHipblogMamas.com

On Mother's Day 2007

I never really thought I wanted to be a Mother until I became a Mother. After that moment of giving birth, I knew that being a Mother was one the most wonderful, if not the greatest, gifts I could ever be blessed with. Sure, Motherhood is hard, stressful at times, painful, and comes with so much responsibility but all those things pale in comparison to the unconditional love, hugs, fun, laughter, clarity and kisses your children give you as their Mother.

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, my sisters, my mother in law, and all my mommy friends in cyberspace. You are all so special and such wonderful Mothers. I heart all of you! ;) And for a trip down memory lane, here is last year's Mother's Day Tribute to the Moms In My Life.

**************

I Need Kick In The Blogging Butt

Blogging is something I like to do. It keeps me focused. It keeps me connected, and it keeps me up to date on the latest news ( and gossip). Heck, I've been blogging since January 2004 so obviously it's something of a hobby for me.

But lately I haven't been as motivated to blog about personal things. It seems like I get a bit less personal as the days go by and I'd rather blog about things happening in my business rather than things happening in my life. One reasoning behind this is that life is truly hectic right now with business (which is great but...) AND personal life is just as hectic if not more so. This makes my mind one big blur( as if it wasn't already ;). I so want this blur to be gone soon and get back to a normal stable life. Or else your stuck with photos of my kids & landscapes, photos of hotties like Christian Bale ( not that seeing his photo any number of times is a bad thing), and embarrassing myself talking about my apparent bad taste in music (Akon anyone?).

Ok, now that all of that is said and done, go have some fun for me. Enter these Mothers Day Giveaways/Contests

I'm About To Embarass Myself...

A couple months ago I was looking for some new(er) music to exercise to and dance to , you know during my bathing suit frenzy phase, by the way, I think I'm over that. Anyway, I came across some music from Akon. I know! Gasp! Imagine that, a mom of two listening to Akon. I'll go and hide now. :) Before "I wanna love you" (also known as something you don't really want to read here) & "Don't Matter" and the "The Sweet Escape" with Gwen Stefani I did not know who he was. Well, anyway, I liked the beat so I started listening to more of the songs. I even let my 2 year old bop his head to the beat a couple of times. Of course, I had the censored lyrics. Go ahead and give me Mother of The Year for that, OK?

Now with the recent controversy surrounding Akon involving a 14 year old girl at a concert,I'm no longer sure about listening to his music. If you haven't heard you must be living in a hole or actually have a life that does not involve reading TMZ.com at some point during your busy week like myself. Seriously.

What do you think? Should sponsors pull the plug? Should those of us that listened to his music purely for exercise value give it up? Will Gwen Stefani (also a mother) still go on tour with him? Or is this all a misunderstanding/publicity stunt of some kind and we really have no freaking clue as to what really happened? Yes, I've seen the video. Oh yeah and I'm sure you all have much better things to worry about than this. I'm just a wonderin' over here...

In other news go read my Best Buy Apple 4GB Ipod review over at amomsreview.com or enter to win the book, Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten if you are all about reading something sensible today ;)

In Limbo

According to Wilkipedia, limbo means "any status where a person or project is held up, and nothing can be done until another action happens". This is my life right now. The feeling of not being certain or unsettled is never a good one. We've been unsettled for a long time never knowing where we ultimately wanted to live and raise our kids. But our son starting kindergarten in the very near future has kind of forced us to make a decision one way or the other. We've finally decided on where we want to live for now(it's a start) and we've been house hunting ALL week. Yes, that's why I've been MIA. And, now were in temporary limbo AGAIN. We've got a busy few weeks ahead of us. Wish us luck. I'm sooo glad our vacation to the beach is coming up in less than 3 weeks. I seriously need one. ;)

*Have you checked out amomsreview.com lately? We're giving away 1 copy of Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten
