And There Was Fear!

My BIL welcomed his first child into the world yesterday. Normally with this special event there are tears of joy, happiness, and pure excitement. Don't get me wrong that did exist very much so but, if I may be honest, for me there was pure fear!

Fear of the "OMG! - I- don't - ever - want - to - experience - labor - again - the - hubz - is getting - a - vasectomy - STAT" variety!

Really though, I'm so happy for my BIL & his wife as they start their journey as parents together. And their baby, the first girl in the family, is too cute for words. But that cuteness did not give me baby fever this time around as it usually does when I see new babies. I think I'm finally ready to close up the baby making chapter of my life and move on.

I feel sorry for your child.
If you think labor was bad (and you were probably as doped up as the doc would allow) you are going to hate being a mom.

What a typical response to a post that was supposed to be humorous. I think we all need to take life a little less seriously sometimes. You should try it.

Bye the way, childbirth is life's most beautiful miracle yet I'll be honest and say labor is not at all fun or painlessso, YES, I'm happy to admit that I chose an epidural with both labors. I'm willing to bet most Mothers would choose the same.

Congratulations to your brother-in-law!

You're lucky to know what you want as far as more kids go. I'm constantly changing my mind!

Amazing how almost everyone who has a nasty comment on blogs (especially mom blogs) doesn't have the guts to show who they really are and put anonymous!

I have had 3 children and didn't have an epidural with any of them, but that doesn't make me any better of a mother than someone who had one.

Amanda, you are an awesome mom and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! :)

Wow anonymous, I think I feel more sorry for the offspring of women with no humor. How much fun are you to live with? Give me drugs and a laugh anyday over a superiority complex and snooty attitude!

Congrats to your BIL. I know the exact feeling of not getting the baby fever anymore. I thought it not possible. But it can happen.

Oh My WORD! How did she get to that comment from what you wrote in your post? I hated being PREGNANT both times so in her eyes that would make me a terrible mother... heh heh little does she know how stable, happy and well brought up my precious little angels are!

I always think how lucky your children are and how devoted you must be that you have the patience and dedication to home school them!
