Children from Kindergarten through 5th Grade are invited to submit original stories and artwork to the “I Love Costa Rica’s Rain Forest” Contest based upon a real or imaginary travel adventure in the Costa Rican rain forest. This contest is sponsored by Smart Poodle Publishing. Various prizes are being donated by Rand McNally that kids will really enjoy. We think this would be a great contest for kids that are homeschooled. There will be a total of 9 winners from three grade categories. The deadline to enter is September 30, 2009

Monday’s Cute Kid: #26

Meet Nixie Harlow, Monday’s newest cute kid. Here’s what Nixie’s Mom had to say about her, “She is 9 months old and starting to walk. Â She has a smile on her face 24 hours a day, if you just look at her from across the room she grins from ear to ear. Â She loves all foods, especially her peach puffs and she can wave bye bye!”
