5 Tips For Shooting Halloween Video

Have a point and shoot camera with video? Use it for your Halloween movies! The following are some great home video tips provided by San Disk.

1. Take some video earlier in the evening. Halloween doesn’t just happen at
night – it’s a full-day event. Lighting is essential and plays a crucial
role, so use it to your advantage and take video and images before the
sun goes down.

2. You can dramatically improve your video quality by keeping the camera
still. If you’re filming a Halloween party, a tripod is ideal, but any
stable surface with a good view of the action will do. Also, using a
tripod or stable surface can make sure you are included in the holiday
memories!

3. If you plan on taking some video while trick-or-treating with the kids,
be sure there’s enough lighting in the neighborhood, and it’s a good
idea to bring along some flashlights. Use both hands to keep the camera
steady.

4. When capturing video of the kids, get down to their level. No one wants
to watch a video of the tops of their heads.

5. Don’t be lazy – move around and try out different angles. Your footage
could benefit greatly with a little creativity.

Once you’ve captured some great Halloween video clips, upload them to the SanDisk Fall Video Contest on YouTube.  Grand prize is a trip to Las Vegas and $10,000. WOW! The deadline to enter is 11/10/08
