Baby Walking-When Should My Baby Begin Walking?
Babies usually begin walking by 11 to 13 months of age. Walking usually begins after crawling and after cruising has been mastered. Cruising is when your baby walks while holding onto everything. All babies begin walking at different ages so don't be concerned if your baby is not walking right at 11 or 12 months. This is only the norm or average for walking. Some babies begin walking earlier around 9 months and some babies walk later around 14 or 15 months. As long as your child is showing an interest in walking and cruising then there is probably nothing to worry about. There are a few things you can do to encourage walking. 1.) You can hold your baby's hand and walk alongside him or her. 2.) You can show them how to get up and down 3.) You can provide them with a safe walking environment. Should you be concerned if your baby is not walking? If you are concerned about your baby not walking yet you should consult your child's pediatrician. If your child is not even showing an interest in walking by 15 + months then you should also consult your child's pediatrician.
