10 Frugal Skin Care Tips For Moms
You don’t have to spend tons of money each month on skin care/beauty products to have good skin. Here are 10 frugal and simple skin care tips.
1. Get plenty of sleep. Yes, this is important. Nothing will age you faster than lack of sleep.
2. Drink lots of water every day. Drinking water keeps you hydrated and keeps your skin looking good. I suggest 8-10 glasses of water per day.
3. Clip coupons. If you have a favorite beauty product that you think you can’t live without then find coupons for it. This way you can get what you want and save money.
4. Go natural. Try out some natural skincare regimens just by combining some ingredients already in your home such as eggs, oatmeal, baking soda, etc. Here’s a really good oatmeal acne treatment how-to
5. Have a zit and no cream to put on it? Use a dab of traditional white toothpaste (not gel). Do not use this if you have sensitive skin.
6. Eat less processed foods and more fresh/healthier foods. Good skincare starts on the inside.
7. Use sunscreen. If you don’t want wrinkles early then use sunscreen every time you go outside even on overcast days. However, being in the sun is also a great way to clear up acne prone skin - just remember to use your sunscreen!
8. Moisturize your skin everyday. Some cheap moisturizers include Vitamin E cream (less than $2) at most stores, use petroleum jelly ( less than $2) , or a dab of olive oil. Use these sparingly on the face if your skin is prone to breakouts.
9. Wear sunglasses from an early age. Going without sunglasses causes wrinkles around the nose and eyes due to squinting.
10. Relax and keep your hands AWAY from your face. This will also reduce breakouts/acne.
Overall, the skin we have is due to genetics and all we can do is work with what we have been given. If you truly want to save money these ten tips should prove to be helpful.
