What Can Be Used As A Substitute in Recipe That Asks For Eggs?

toteating.jpgYour child may be allergic to eggs, maybe you want to cut out the cholesterol, or you may just be out of eggs…Anyway, I’ve been in all 3 of these situations at some point or another so I thought I would share with all of you some things you can use instead of eggs when your recipe calls for eggs and you don’t have any or can’t use any in your recipe due to kid food allergies.

Good egg substitutions for baked goods such as cakes, brownies, and breads:

half of a chopped/pureed banana

3 tablespoons of applesauce any kind… I like the unsweetened kind the best for brownies

jarred baby food such as bananas, apples, or pears

For other types of cooking that requires eggs you can also try out this:

2 tablespoons of flour, 1/2 tablespoon of butter,  1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 2 teaspoons of water

soda products

vinegar

flaxseed
