Kids Summer Fun Idea: Night Under The Stars
As Summer comes to a close, we are all rushing to find a few fun things for our kids to do. Here’s a fun activity that I shared with my boys about a month ago. It’s free, fun, and can be done in your backyard!
We spent the evening cuddled up under blankets looking up at the stars. Yes, those are my two boys ( ages 6 & 9) to the left!
Actually star-gazing is a fun activity to do whenever you get a chance. Plan to spend some time star-gazing at least once during every season because the night sky changes so often! Plus kids absolutely love looking, conversing, and dreaming under the stars. Remember those days? If you get lucky you may be able to identify many of the planets, constellations, and even see a shooting star. For a list of meteor showers and dates, click here.
What You’ll Need For A Night Under The Stars:
But first I suggest starting out the night by making S’mores
constellation map - you can print them from skymaps.com absolutely free and they are great quality
flashlight
bug spray
a clear sky with no lights around is a must
blanket or sleeping bag for everyone
telescope or binoculars ( not necessary)
Above all, enjoy yourself and have fun!
