Most children start Kindergarten at the age of 5. This is the average age reported by parents for their children starting school. However, the ages of children starting school range from 4 to 6 years of age.

Every child is different and as a parent you should trust your instincts when signing your child up for Kindergarten. Contrary to popular belief, there is no best age to send your child. The best age is when your child is ready whether it be a late 4 year old (ready to turn 5 usually by October), a 5 year old, or a 6 year old.

Many parents delay their child from starting school earlier in hopes of improving academic and athletic performance throughout their school years or simply because they feel their child is not ready.
