3. Catholics in Ireland are represented by the color green.
4. Ireland’s flag is green, white, and orange.
5. Green is considered a lucky color

Thanks for this info. I”m not Irish but my husband Pat was born on St. Patricks Day and it helps me understand why his mother died the eggs and oatmeal green on his birthday
A good friend of mine who’s Irish (Flanagan) say’s the green on St. Patties day is mostly an American tradition. Everything in Ireland is so green to begin with, they don’t need to give special attention to it on SP’s Day.
