Katie & Kimble Book Giveaway

We’ve got a cute new contest up for February.  Over at the Katie & Kimble Blog, author Linda Thieman is giving away 12 copies of her first book, Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story!  Now, this isn’t just any ghost story.  For one thing, this book is not fear-based because Kimble is a friendly ghost.  And as Linda says, she wanted to write a story where “the children are independent NOT because they are neglected or abandoned, but because their parents encourage them to be.”  Yeh, parents come off looking really good in the Katie & Kimble stories!

Katie & Kimble: A Ghost Story is a chapter book for ages 7-10, although Linda says that some moms have had success using the book as a read aloud for six year olds, too.  The story is funny and exciting and moving—you actually care about these characters.

And check out her cute blog.  There are lots of free activities to download from the right sidebar, like coloring pages, bookmarks, Katie & Kimble e-cards where you get to design your own cards (and your email address is not harvested).  You can also ask the author questions, listen to songs and read the first two chapters for free!

Katie & Kimble is a chapter book series at RL3 (reading level 3).  Book 2, Katie & Kimble: The Magic Wish, will be available in March.

No limit on number of entries.  The contest runs through the end of February.  Prizes will be mailed out the first week in March.  The contest is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada.
