More Mom Confessions

Sometime last year I let out some random mommy confessions and it felt good. And, now there is a website (that I'm addicted to reading) that is devoted strictly to true mom confessions. I have given a "me too" to a few of those confessions myself.

And now I present y'all with a few new non-anonymous confessions of my own again...

1.) I bribe my 6 year old son with cards. He loves cards of all kinds such as garbage pail kids, football, Yu-gi-oh,etc... When I want him to do something, I'll sometimes tell him I'll give him a pack of cards. It works. So I keep a box of packaged cards in a secret place for when these "bribing times" arise.

2.) I read at least 20-30 books to both of my boys everyday and I still feel guilty because I think it's not enough.

3.) Instead of washing dishes and cleaning, I surf the internet instead.

4.) I really truly do not want to send my kids to public school.

5.) I feel isolated as a stay at home/work at home mom. But even with this isolation, I wouldn't have it any other way.

6.) It pisses me off when Moms say they are so tired and never get any time to themselves yet their kids are in school all week and during the weekends, their kids get thrown off on Grandma & Grandpa or just whoever will take them so they can go shopping, out to eat alone, or to the bar or just lying around at home. Geesh, I just wish I got a break like once a month! These Moms have no freakin' clue.

What's yours?

Rain Rain Go Away...

...because my boys want to go out and play. And, if they don't get out to play, mommy may not survive this day...

When my boys are cooped up inside all day they have a tendency to go wild. They fight. They get into EVERYTHING. The house turns into a warzone and disaster area unfit for us all.

They have been fighting over a piece of garbage. A piece of a purple broken toy. Honestly, I don't even know what it is. With possibly over a gazillion books, movies, games, etc. to choose from they want to fight over that one piece of junk. Imagine that.

I need to work today. I didn't work last Friday or the Easter weekend nor yesterday so you can imagine how swamped I am. I've got content to write, books and products to review, blog entries to write, two contests to judge, and an inbox full of emails to go through.

Maybe I should just give up until this evening??? Put some music on and dance with my boys until dinner time. That's been a good stress reliever(for me) and energy reliever (for the boys) as of late.

What do you and your kids do on rainy spring days? If it was a bit warmer, I'd let them play in the rain.

I Got A Sunburn While Working Today

Spring has sprung full force here in Southeastern KY. We are spending some time at the in-laws while the husband recovers. The in-laws have a huge yard in the middle of nowhere so it's great for us. Our two boys have played outside while I have worked on the sundeck with my laptop, and while I perused blogs today. They are still going strong as I write.

I can't explain this great feeling of being able to work outside in the warm sun while the boys are splashing in the mud and throwing balls only a few feet away. Being able to be a mother and working at the same time doing something I truly love can't accurately be described the way I would really like to do it. My kids like this arrangement. I like this arrangement so it works for us.

I'm gonna send you on over to Rebecca's post over at Babble.com with a similar topic after I share with you an excerpt here from her post that I identify with so deeply.

"Concentrated on the two things in her life that will never be less than inspired and inspiring: her child and her craft-- working and creating and mothering all at once. Because she has to".

Thanks Rebecca, also of Girls Gone Child, for your inspiring and realistic writing.
