Impasse
Our life has been nothing short of crazy and archaic in the past month. In December right before Christmas we lost power for 6 days due to a snowstorm. More recently, we were without water for 8 1/2 days. I've come to the conclusion that this is what happens when you live in an impoverished rural mountain town. Along with the beautiful terrain, the delightful solitude, lack of traffic, and quaintness of a small town, comes things like this.
Had we not had a supply of Ponds wet cleansing towelettes I'm not sure I would have maintained my sanity throughout the entire ordeal. I nearly lost it on day 7 after having to "bath" myself and my 5 year old in a pot of water. You think I'm joking. Unfortunately,I am not. Of course our 8 year old was not disturbed that we didn't have water in fact I think he was actually thrilled because he didn't have to bath or shower. Now I can truly say I know what it feels like to have lived back before running water and electricity were in homes. A bonus - I'm totally prepared for 2012 ;)
I also wanted to address the lack of posting on this blog because it obviously needs addressed. It seems I'm at a bit of an impasse with this blog. It's time I either put it down or revive it. Decisions? Decisions? Thoughts?
In the meantime, here are a few photos I've snapped recently. Can you tell I get snap happy when I get stressed? Whatever helps, right? You can click the photos for a larger version :)

Let It Snow!
We woke up to the first snow of this season on Saturday morning. It was beautiful. I'm hoping we get something like this again on Christmas.
The View from our deck.

The Snow plow making it's way into our neck of the woods..and I mean that literally. Barney, our mentally-challenged dog, is barking at the snow truck!

Grey enjoying the snow. ( FYI: I added a Seventies Photoshop action to this photo. Thought I'd go ahead and mention that here since I've already been asked elsewhere)

The Weekend In Pictures #547

Me & The boys at HB days this weekend. Aren't we the sweetest?

The Tree In Our Backyard. I'm lovin' it.

Images of Spring right here in KY. Out of about 5 tries, this photo finally turned out desirable.

A mom will pay $10 for a cheap piece of plastic to see an excited smile like that!Labels: mom blog, motherhood, photos, pictures
