I'm Not Potty Trained But I Sure Can Rhyme
Our 2 year old son has been surprising us a LOT lately with his new found skills.
He spends several hours sitting quietly talking to himself and just drawing. Yesterday he drew the most perfect happy face. Well, perfect to me since I am his Mother.
He's also been rambling on about rhymes. He talks incessantly about something rhymes with something else. For example, yesterday I caught him saying, "Hammer rhymes with bammer and Spongebob rhymes with kungebob". And, sometimes he makes up words like "kungebob" but they do seem to rhyme nonetheless.
At first I thought he was merely copying his older brother until he started making up his own rhymes.
When our other son was this age, he didn't seem to be too interested in rhyming or drawing. He spent a lot of time with puzzles, cars, and play tools.
It's amazing how different two siblings can be.
Hey, maybe I'm that Mom who thinks her kid is special even when everything is just NORMAL and I'm sure I'll continue thinking that for the rest of my life because that's what Mommies do.
Soooo, What are your 2 year olds doing? Is this a result of having an older brother?Labels: 2 year old, drawing, rhymes, toddler
