Wouldn’t it be great if a bad parenting law existed?

For instance, if a child bully’s another child at school and nothing can be done to make the child stop bullying then why not punish the parent. Ultimately, it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure their child behaves appropriately and stops the bad behavior when told. If the parent doesn’t do anything and the child’s behavior doesn’t change then how about putting the parent in jail for a day or two? Now I know this hypothetical situation sounds a little extreme but come on it would be motivation to get your child to start doing the right thing wouldn’t it?
