A Recap of 2011: The Short Version
In 2011 I “officially” opened up a part time portrait photography business. On a shoe string budget (aka my own money). Not the best idea but was a learning experience. It was an experiment in “doing what makes you happy” gone awry. Note to self: Don’t start anymore businesses.
I took thousands of photos. Most of which did not consist of my own kids which totally goes against why I got into photography in the first place.
Our 10 yr old transitioned from home school to public school. He had to enroll in order to play sports and we allowed him to make that decision. I’m still to this day questioning that decision.
Our 7 year old ( who suffers from EE) had to eliminate many many foods from his diet and start drinking a formula created specifically for kids with food allergies instead.
I didn’t blog about anything personal.
We stayed home A LOT this year because 1.) my new business kept me busy and 2.) because our son started school and 3.) to keep our 7 year old from getting sick. The first two things totally changed the lifestyle we took for granted.
We lost a cat and gained a dog.
As I look back on 2011, it really did go by way too fast. Overall it seemed like it was a year of “getting by” and “wait a minutes” because I felt so rushed and so busy.
In 2o12, I resolve to have more fun in life but especially with my kids, be healthier, create more adventure, work smarter, slow down, engage in more meaningful relationships, eliminate the negative, and truly focus on what really matters – my children, my husband, and my family.
2012 will be amazing for us even if the world ends.
Happy 2012.
