Toddler Activity Information and Resources
Galore! I'm a mom of a toddler and I'm always looking for early learning and
creative activities for my son. Here are some of the activities I have come
upon. Enjoy and share this information source with other parents of
toddlers. The most important advice I can give you is that toddlers learn
through PLAY. The learn while playing so provide a variety of play
activities for them.
Here are some suggestions for a simple
toddler activity:
Blow bubbles! Toddlers are fascinated
by bubbles. Blow bubbles of all sizes and you will have so much fun. Blow
bubbles outside on a windy day for even more fun!
Create Your Own Rock Band! Or any kind
of music! Toddlers love to listen to music, dance to music as well as sing
their own music. Both of my children love to gather their instruments and
create their very own band. Then I record them with my video camera and play
it back for them. They enjoy this fun activity so much!
Paint! What is more simple and fun
than paint! Paint promotes creativity and day dreaming as well as many other
important skills! Toddlers love to fingerpaint and mix all the colors
together. For an easy clean up paint session, try putting your toddler in a
dry bathtub then provide them with paint. Of course, it needs to be washable
paint.
Shaving Cream Fun! Give your kids
shaving cream in the bathtub and let them make lots of fun shapes or place
it on the table in a heap. Kids love this!
Read a Stack of Books! The simplest
and one of the single most important activities you can do with your toddler
is to read to them. Let them pick out their favorite books, stack them
up, and read till the stack is gone! My boys love this activity!
